As one of the 40 or so Portland designers and craftspeople that first filled the tables of Made Here PDX almost exactly a year ago, I am pleased to still be a part of this great venue that showcases wares made by people who live here. With a prime location just across the street from Portland’s iconic Powell’s Bookstore, their success has enabled them to expand their floorspace as well as increase the number of designers they carry, all in one short year.
Their floor plan is open and inviting with a modern sparseness that allows shoppers to really focus on the ultra-local products. They carry everything from housewares to apparel to specialty food and drink.
I began by selling my handmade placemats, napkins, runners, and coaster sets which complimented the other brilliantly curated home consumables, usables, and decoratives.
I have recently added a collection of men’s wool neckties and scarves.
