There’s nothing like seeing the landscape of our beautiful country go by from the ground. I’m on the road with my husband and 10-year old son, traveling the Southwest by car.
We took the blue highways all the way from Portland to Bryce Canyon and drove through amazing vistas, plains, and the high elevation desert landscape of Oregon, Nevada, and Utah.
Driving through Malheur County, we were so lucky to catch the Snow Geese migration – fields so full of birds it looked like a huge patch of snow.
Bryce Canyon National Park is stunning, with its hoodoo spires looking like something from the surface of Mars. We took a hike down into one of the canyons and had to step around patches of snow still on the ground.
The gnarled trees make lovely pairings with the spires.
Tomorrow we begin our journey to Zion, the Grand Canyon, and northern New Mexico.
